How is your home care routine

Have you ever had a facial that just feels like you having cream applied?  I hear this too often.  Facials are about backing up your home care routine, they are a way of life not just something you do once and expect to see results.   Facial are like having a good diet, going to the gym and living a healthy lifestyle.  If you want results you have to dedicate time and money and ensure you are doing your best at home on a daily basis.

During a facial I analyze your skin and take a view on the condition of it after discussing the current routine your skin has been subject to. Depending how your skin has been treated I then will explain its condition.  Sometimes a simple change in the home care routine can sort a problem out.

My facial starts by thoroughly cleansing the skin with the recommended Cleanser, then the gentle Exfoliating Cleanser will remove any dead skin and give a deep clean to the skin surface. Enzymes are then applied using a brush to the entire face and then steam is directed onto the skin for up to 10 minutes.  The steam opens the pores and then the enzymes penetrate to digest all the blockages and black heads.  Once the stream is removed and the enzymes are wiped away with a hot towel the skin is ready for extraction.

Extraction is one of the most important parts to a facial it enables the pores to be cleaned out which in turn allows products to penetrate into the skin.  Products penetrate very little through the cell walls and the majority through the pores hence if the pores are blocked the products do not do there job to the best of there ability.  Also if pores are left blocked they will gradually expand and the result in enlarged pores.

The above steps are the first in all of my Facials.  The next steps differ depending on the facial but are based on a similar concept.
